The significance of "GERMINATED" seeds
Recently a 2000 year old date palm seed was germinated in Israel. This seed rested, dormant for 2000 years only to have it's life-giving properties released simply by adding water. During the sprouting or "germination" process, powerful compounds are transformed within the plant which provide it with food and protection from the intense environmental stresses it will encounter as it grows. The discovery of these compounds is a major break-through as they are distinctly different from those found in non-germinated seeds. Antioxidant activity in germinated seed extracts is much higher than extract from non-germinated seeds and germinated seed extract is much more water soluble.
